Inspiring Conversations with Lucie Robinson of LAR Legal Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucie Robinson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I knew I always wanted to be an attorney from a young age. I was intrigued by the way the legal system has an impact on everyone’s life even in a small way. The most attractive part of the legal system is its versatility.

When I started law school, I quickly became involved in extracurricular activities. I thoroughly enjoyed the mock trials and being in the courtroom. My goal was always to be a voice for others, and I wanted to use the courtroom as my platform. I started my legal career as a prosecutor representing the citizens of Orange County, Florida. When I learned the power that a prosecutor has in the criminal justice system I knew that I could make a massive impact on the community. Giving opportunities to those who made mistakes and found themselves on the wrong side of the law, and helping those who were wronged achieve justice.

After a few years, I wanted to expand my talents to be able to reach a broader group. I transitioned into civil litigation climbing the ranks at national firms. When I realized that the opportunity for my career advancement was stagnant and there was no focus on purposeful representation, I made the decision to branch out and open my law firm. Having my own firm has afforded me the privilege to focus on cases that I am passionate about. From businesses to individuals, through contracts and criminal cases, I am able to assist with cases that make an impact and matter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Being young and not having a strong legal network starting off was difficult. I was unable to grow in larger firm environments because I didn’t fit in with their culture.

Since I am much younger than most people who have been practicing as long as me, it has created obstacles because people don’t want to take me seriously I’m a professional young attorney.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a small, boutique firm that focuses on our clients. We specialize in Civil Litigation, Criminal Defense, personal injury, and employment discrimination matters. We take special attention to each case and find innovative ways to secure results for our clients.

We offer a free consultations for cases within our practice areas. We believe in the attorney-client relationship, and treat our clients with respect. I am an experienced litigator who can handle a case through trial.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
I am a calculated risk-taker. The biggest risk I have ever taken was starting my own firm.

I bet on myself and took the risk during the pandemic of being responsible for mine and the lives of others. I see risk as doing something out of your comfort zone for which you did not have ultimate control over the result.
